My name is Dan McGrath and I’m running to be the Minnesota State House Representative for Saint Paul’s district 64A.

These are tough times. Authoritarianism has arrived. The corruption of the Trump administration is out in the open. His abuse of power is frightening. Meanwhile, most of us struggle to afford life’s necessities. Times like these can leave us feeling alone, isolated and even hopeless.

Personally, I reject that sense of hopelessness.

My 25 years of community and labor organizing have taught me that the only way to fight off despair is to organize. The only way to make meaningful progress on the issues that matter is to stand up together.

I’m running for the state house because I want to put my experience, skills and relationships to work. We can lead a U turn away from authoritarianism here in Minnesota and toward a future all of us deserve – and can afford. I will work to make big strides toward affordable health care, a dignified life for all workers and their families, stronger public schools and a sustainable climate.
